This diagram shows the process people go through before they take an action such as buying a product.

1. CULTURE

Defines the framework of rules and beliefs. Normally defined by an authority.

2. EVENT

The person experiences an event within the culture.

3. DESIRE

The person generates the desire to increase comfort levels.

4. RESPONSE

The person identifies the response required to raise comfort levels.

5. PREPARATION

The person makes preparations before taking the response action.

6. COMMITTMENT

When the person reaches a relaxed state they are ready to commit.

7. ACTION

The person carries out the action.
